Bloom - Brand Shoot with Hide and Cotton

Have you ever ended your day and all you can think about is how badly you want to go back and relive the last few hours? Yesterday was one of those days for me, and to be honest, it's just as much bitter as it is sweet, but I'm glad I at least have photos to remind me of the magical experience! I spent my afternoon chasing around three little babes that were dressed up like woodland explorers and took on the roles of their outfits seamlessly. I had the honor of organizing this shoot with the mama behind Hide and Cotton, the creator of the beautiful hats all the girls were wearing. The moment each of the girls put on their hats they transformed into little explorers, curious about everything, and ready to take on the woods. It was magical to watch. I could see their imaginations running wild as they learned and grew with the environment they were placed in. They came to participate in a photoshoot, but they did so much more than that, they bloomed. Their friendships became stronger and their minds curious all within the short time we were there, and all because of the inspiration they gained from their stunning Hide and Cotton hats. I never knew a piece of clothing could have such a positive impact on a child's learning experience until yesterday. All I know is that one day when I have babes of my own they will have an abundance of Hide and Cotton hats to take on all their adventures and to help them see the world in a new and magical way.

This tall dead grass was not our friend... if filled the girls outfits and shoes with dozens of prickly pieces, but they were happy troopers despite the discomfort.

Little miss Mina, I just love you. This little bunny is one of the most kind-hearted littles I know. Her suspenders are from Pirapir and Crop top from Rose and Bell.

The way these three played and explored together would have made anyone think they have known each other forever. They immediately bonded and it was the sweetest thing to be able to see new and old friendships bloom. The floral suspenders are from Peyton's Lane, the suspender skirt is from Little People Rocx, and the beautiful shoes are from Honey and Hide.

Sweet little Amari was so in love with the fresh blooms. She spent all her time curiously exploring the wood and was in fawn heaven. Her peter pan collar is from Billy Bibs.

Miss Harper was so excited to spend time with her friends. She even asked to stay longer and keep taking pictures with them, it was the sweetest.

Honey and Hide was so sweet and teamed up with Hide and Cotton to make the styling for this shoot possible. Her shoes are stunning and impeccably made, I can't wait to work with this mama again.

Hide and Cotton, thank you for allowing these girls to explore, imagine, and bloom. I am so grateful that you allowed me to be a little part of it.

A Little Glimpse Pt. 1

Thank you so much for stopping by, I'm so glad to experience life with you! I get a lot of questions about what it is exactly I do everyday, so throughout the next few months I'm going to give you little glimpses into my everyday life. Of course, my everyday life is eternally changing between nannying, owning Morning Light Adventure Co., and photography, but I'll do my best to give you an accurate view. So, here is your fist glimpse. I am a nanny for a little boy named Aidan, and let's be honest here, he's my best friend. Who knew a one-and-a-half year old bundle of crazy boy could hold such a special place in my heart? He's pure perfection, aside from his occasional toddler shenanigans, but even that's cute most of the time! His favorite activity right now is bath time, which no one would have guessed two weeks ago since he decided that baths were the equivalent of jumping into an erupting volcano, but, he's over that phase now... Thank Jesus! Anyways, now he spends about an hour of his day enjoying bath time and sunshine; I am so envious over the natural light in this babes tub!

With each post about my time with this man cub I will go over some of our activities during the day. I encourage you to try some of them with your babes, or if you are a nanny/teacher experiment with some fun activities with the littles you work with. I would love to hear the kinds of things you do to keep babes entertained and engaged, maybe Aidan and I will do them and share our experiences with you here!

I am a big advocate for shopping small, so any of the handmade goods in my posts will have links below with information on where you can find/purchase them. And lastly, when I share about Aidan's favorite homemade meals or snacks I will leave recipes to those as well.

This little mans face give me all the baby feels. He's just so sweet.

Over the past couple weeks Aidan has really been starting to discover more and more. He will sit and study a dripping faucet for hours and the entire time you can see the wheels in his little brain turning, learning, and absorbing all the information around him.

The little bit of drool kissing those lips kills me.

Pantsless book reading is a post bath must with this babe and I don't mind one bit. (Outfit details below)

After bath time we will occasionally go out on an adventure, like today; we went to my house and made smoothies, ran in some purple flowers, and of course ended it all with water balloons because one water activity wasn't enough for this wild thing. (Smoothie recipe and outfit details below)

These dirty little toes are everything.

He would spend all of his time exploring outside and getting those toes dirty.

We ended the day with some water balloon splashing and it was magical. I am so blessed by this babe and his family. I couldn't ask for a better job or little man to explore and live life with. Can't wait to share more of our adventures with you!

Smoothie Recipe:

  • 1-2 cups of almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
